Dezirae Armijo, a senior striker on the Socorro (New Mexico) High School girls soccer team, set two state records this fall.
Armijo scored 80 goals in 22 games to set the state record in that category. In addition, she finished her career with a state-record 210 goals.
According to the National Federation of State High School Associations’ online multimedia National High School Sports Record Book, Armijo’s single-season performance ranks fifth nationally and her career performance ranks 10th.
In the process, she helped lead the fifth-ranked Warriors to the New Mexico Activities Association Class 3A state quarterfinals this fall.
