The 2012 Katy (Texas) High School football team enjoyed an outstanding season that included three single-season offensive performances that rank at the national level.
According to the National Federation of State High School Associations’ online multimedia National High School Sports Record Book, Katy’s 829 points scored in 2012 ranks No. 5 all time; its 86 rushing touchdowns ranks No. 6 all time; and its 116 touchdowns ranks No. 4 all time.
The Katy High School football team finished 16-0 as it won the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 5A Division II state championship on December 22, 2012, with a 35-24 win over Cedar Hill (Texas) High School. The Tigers outscored their opponents, 829-206, during the season, and outscored their first four playoff opponents by an average of 63 to 9. Katy also won UIL state titles in 2007 and 2008.
