Wheaton Warrenville South kicker Jack Olsen set a new Illinois state record for field goals in a game on Friday, August 24, 2018, when the junior made eight field goals during a 26-0 victory over Metea Valley. The total also ranks second all time nationally.

Olsen’s boots of 48, 38, 24, 44, 25, 44, 45 and 20 yards put him into the record books. He was 8-of-9 on the game, with his lone miss coming on a 52-yard try.

After making 3 of his 7 field goal attempts in 2017, Olsen bested the previous IHSA single-game record of five field goals, set by Bloomington Central Catholic’s Todd Kurz on in 1991.
