107th NFHS Summer Meeting Set for June 26-29 in Salt Lake City
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), the national leader and advocate for high school athletics and performing arts, will host its 107th Annual Summer Meeting June 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City.
NFHS membership includes 50 state high school associations and the District of Columbia, representing more than 19,800 high schools and 12 million students participating in activity programs nationwide. This year’s meeting is being held in conjunction with the Utah High School Activities Association.
More than 800 attendees are expected, including state association staff and board members, NFHS Board of Directors members, national activities leaders and guests. The four-day event will feature 39 workshops across six sessions, beginning Saturday and concluding June 29.
Attendees will collaborate on national initiatives aimed at strengthening education-based athletics and activities, with sessions focused on policy, legal issues, professional development and networking opportunities for key leaders in high school sports and activities.
For those unable to attend, three marquee events — the Summer Meeting Luncheon, the National High School Hall of Fame Press Conference and the Hall of Fame Banquet — will be streamed free on the NFHS Network.
The Opening Ceremony begins at 3 p.m. MT on Friday, June 26, featuring presentations of the National High School Spirit of Sport Award and the National High School Heart of the Arts Award.
The Second General Session follows at 9 a.m. Saturday, with updates from NFHS Board of Directors President Ron Nocetti and NFHS CEO-elect Davis Whitfield.
Following Saturday’s workshops and meetings, the Summer Meeting Luncheon will take place Sunday and include presentation of 13 NFHS Citations honoring individuals for extraordinary contributions to high school activity programs.
The Closing General Session is set for 9:15 a.m. Monday, June 29, featuring Aaron Baker, athlete, author, entrepreneur and spinal cord injury ambassador.
Later that morning, the National High School Hall of Fame Press Conference will be held at 11:45 a.m., followed by the 43rd Hall of Fame Banquet and induction ceremony at 6 p.m. This year’s 12-member class includes five athletes, three coaches, two officials, one state association administrator and one fine arts educator.
This marks just the second time Salt Lake City has hosted the NFHS Summer Meeting — and the first since 1979.
The following events can be livestreamed on the NFHS Network. Any additional press requests should be sent to NFHS Manager of Communications and Media Relations Jordan Morey at jmorey@nfhs.org.
